Read the instructions
Australian hardwoods not only have a huge variety in colour and texture, more often they are also denser in structure, especially in comparison to many European timbers.
Why is this of any importance you may ask?
Often instructions on tins are created by those in the country of origin. Instructions are often generalised as there is no way a manufacturer can test a product on all species of timber from all over the world in a huge variety of climatic conditions and for a huge variety of uses or projects. Whilst instructions may be generalised, it is important to read all the information and if not 100% clear- seek clarifications from the supplier. Look up websites, often companies have "how to" info sheets that are more specific to your project.
